The Association of Construction Project Managers Malaysia (ACPM) participated in the Majlis Peluncuran Panduan Menjalankan Pentaksiran Risiko Bahan Kimia Berbahaya Kepada Kesihatan (BKBKK) Secara Generik di Tapak Pembinaan 2026, organised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (JKKP) Malaysia at Kompleks Setia Perkasa, Putrajaya.
The event was officially launched by YBrs. Ir. Ts. Hajah Hazlina binti Yon, Director General of JKKP Malaysia.
ACPM was represented by PMr Jesu Dass, VP of Training & Qualification Committee, and PMr Yatt Weng Chong, VP of Publicity & Publication Committee.
The programme marked the launch of JKKP Malaysia’s newly developed guideline for conducting generic chemical health risk assessments at construction sites. The guideline is intended to provide guidance to JKKP officers and industry stakeholders in obtaining the Department’s approval to conduct generic assessments of risks arising from chemicals hazardous to health at construction sites, in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000.
The programme also provided an overview and briefing on the implementation of the guideline, contributing towards greater awareness and understanding of chemical health risk management within the construction industry.
During the engagement, the Director General of JKKP Malaysia also encouraged ACPM to play a more active and effective role in supporting JKKP’s initiatives across relevant areas, highlighting the opportunity for greater collaboration between JKKP and the Association in advancing occupational safety and health within the construction industry.
ACPM welcomes the call for greater collaboration and remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen occupational safety and health practices while promoting higher professional standards across Malaysia’s construction industry.
