The Association of Construction Project Managers (ACPM) is the professional home for Malaysians who transform drawings and data into finished buildings, bridges and infrastructure—safely, on time and on budget. Founded by university faculty and certified practitioners who trained under the National Competency Standard for Project Managers (NCS), we exist to champion the unique craft of construction project management and give it the formal recognition it deserves.
Why We Exist
In Malaysia, “project manager” can be a vague label. Clients, regulators and the public need clarity on who is truly qualified to steer complex projects that affect lives, livelihoods and the environment. ACPM provides that assurance. By setting rigorous entry criteria and a clear Code of Integrity, we identify professionals who can credibly protect public interests while delivering high-quality built assets.
Our Mission
Elevate the Profession – Secure legal and market recognition for construction project managers as a distinct, indispensable discipline.
Advance Knowledge – Grow a Malaysian-centred Body of Knowledge (BOK) and move the profession from “consumer” to creator of ideas in project delivery.
Safeguard Standards – Uphold safety, sustainability and ethical practice on every site.
Serve Members – Provide networking, mentoring and continuous-learning pathways so practitioners can thrive in a rapidly digitalising industry.
Membership: Elite by Design
ACPM is not a club you simply join; it is a credential you earn.
Stringent Screening – Applicants must demonstrate NCS-aligned competence, project track record and professional integrity.
Cross-Disciplinary Welcome – Architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and other allied professionals who drive project outcomes are encouraged to apply and enrich our collective insight.
